legalsuper - rated Gold again for 2006/07
legalsuper, Australia’s chosen super fund for the legal sector, has won a successive coveted gold rating from independent ratings firm SuperRatings.
SuperRatings analysed over 230 of Australia’s superannuation funds during 2006. Their rating methodology analyses over 300 individual parts of a superannuation fund including:
• Investment (including: methodology, performance, process)
• Fees and Charges (including: cost, structure, transparency)
• Administration (including: structure, service standards, internet facilities)
• Advice (including: member education, employer servicing, financial planning)
• Governance (including: trustee structure, risk management)
• Insurance (including: rates, options, conditions)
• Other qualitative aspects (including: overall benefits, flexibility and choice, transparency, usability)
According to SuperRatings, the final ratings are designed to reflect each fund’s “value for money”, representing the potential to maximise the retirement savings of its members in a well serviced, secure environment. “Value for money” funds also offer suitable, well-priced ancillary benefits such as life and disability insurance and quality impartial financial planning services.
In its summary of legalsuper SuperRatings said "legalsuper's assessment placed it in the Gold band of our ratings being a well balanced fund, strong in all assessment areas. We believe legalsuper is well placed in terms of your 'value for money' proposition to members".
