legalsuper wins a ‘Platinum’ rating for 2008

legalsuper has won a coveted 'Platinum' rating from SuperRatings, an independent ratings firm that rates over 300 Australian funds.

'Platinum' is the highest available rating and puts legalsuper in the top 45 funds in the SuperRatings universe.

SuperRatings’ defines platinum funds as: ‘The best value for money funds.  Well balanced across all key assessment criteria – investment returns, investment methodology, fees, insurance, administration and advisory services in a robust, secure and proven governance/risk framework.  Provides features that should assist most individuals to meet their retirement goals'.
 
SuperRatings’ rating process considers all aspects of super funds, including:
• Investment (including; methodology, performance, process)
• Fees and Charges (including; cost, structure, transparency)
• Administration (including; structure, service standards, internet facilities)
• Advice (including; member education, employer servicing, financial planning)
• Governance (including; trustee structure, risk management)
• Insurance (including; rates, options, conditions)
• Other qualitative aspects (including; overall benefits, flexibility and choice, transparency, usability)

SuperRatings’ observations included "legalsuper has a sound fee structure and history of solid returns" and "legalsuper provides very good flexibility with its insurance structure providing Death, Death and Total and Permanent Disability and Income Protection. Premiums are competitive across all insurances and very good value to members".
