Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples can often face challenges in accessing services and this is true for many reasons, including living in remote areas. If you are seeking support, opportunities or general help – the below links may be able to support you.
Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS)
AIAT are Australia's only national institution focused exclusively on the diverse history, cultures and heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australia. They tell the story of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and create opportunities for people to encounter, engage and be transformed by that story.
This website is designed to connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with Australian Government policies and programs and raise awareness about the initiatives that affect them most.
The five program streams of the Australian Government’s Indigenous Advancement Strategy (below) have been used to shape the navigation of the site, reflecting the key areas of focus for Indigenous affairs.
- Jobs, Land and Economy
