Making an Insurance Claim

Making an insurance claim at a difficult time in life may seem challenging but here at legalsuper, we do everything we can to make the claims process straightforward and timely.

What happens when a member passes away? 

Following the death of a legalsuper member, we have a responsibility to pay out the member’s account balance to the person or people entitled to it. legalsuper decides who to pay by following legislative guidelines and the Legal Super Trust Deed. It must decide who receives a payment within strict legal guidelines. There is no circumstance in which legalsuper knowingly retains a member’s money after their passing. 

Starting your claim 

To start an insurance claim, you’ll need to speak to us to confirm your eligibility to claim. It’s good to be prepared to answer some difficult and sometimes personal questions. Once we’ve confirmed your eligibility to start the claims process, we will send you paperwork to complete and ask for supporting documentation to help the process run smoothly.
